National healthcare development platform expands to include Transitional Skilled Nursing Facility
DALLAS, TEXAS – The Dallas office of the recently merged PMRG and Madison Marquette today announced the start of construction on a 100-bed transitional skilled nursing facility located in DeSoto, Texas, a densely populated and economically thriving community within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. The property, DeSoto Transitional Rehabilitation Center (DeSoto TRC), is being developed in partnership with Global Prime Health, LLC and an associated group of multidisciplinary physicians and operation specialists.
The development is slated for completion in Q4 2019, and will be operated by HMG Healthcare, a premier skilled nursing operator with multi-state operational experience and over 22 locations in Texas and Kansas. The Class A, 55,000 square foot facility will be located on 4.3 acres on Barrows Place, off N. Hampton Road, DeSoto, TX 75115.
“We are excited to kick off construction of this facility in a market where there is a current need for additional quality care options,” stated Peter Phillips, Madison Marquette Senior Vice President of Development and Construction. “DeSoto TRC is unique in that it is designed and licensed as a skilled nursing facility but serves as a bridge between the hospital and home, where the primary focus of comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation and subacute care is clearly on patient recovery.”
DeSoto TRC will provide a wide range of services including nursing care by registered professional nurses, bed and board, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and social services. The delivery model is a cross between a traditional skilled nursing care facility and an inpatient rehabilitation facility, with the majority of patients staying less than 30 days and a small percentage staying longer, depending on their level of need. Unlike traditional skilled nursing facilities, DeSoto TRC will provide specific medical and rehabilitation services inclusive of neurology, orthopedic, cardiopulmonary and wound care, all emphasizing expedited patient recovery.
With the addition of DeSoto TRC, Madison Marquette’s healthcare services group has successfully executed the ground-up development and construction management of more than 60 healthcare facilities valued in excess of $600 million.
