HONOLULU, HI - PM Realty Group (PMRG), one of the nation’s leading full-service commercial real estate firms, recently announced it has been awarded the exclusive leasing assignment for the proposed 230,000-square-foot Lanihau Center being developed by A&B Lanihau, LLC in Kailua-Kona.
The existing Lanihau shopping center is one of Kona’s most popular retail centers. Property owner A&B Lanihau, LLC has plans to develop the second phase of the Kona shopping center on approximately 20 acres fronting the Queen Kaahumanu Highway. Once completed, the center will be West Hawaii’s largest retail development with more than 335,000 square feet of shops, restaurants, banks and major national retailers.
“PM Realty Group is excited to be working with Alexander & Baldwin on this new development,” said PM Realty Senior Vice President and Pacific Region Director Scott Kuklish. “The completed Lanihau Center is going to be a wonderful addition to the island of Hawaii and we’re thrilled to be a part of it.”
There’s been tremendous interest from tenants even at this early stage, added Wendell F. Brooks III, senior vice president of retail leasing at PM Realty. Interest is coming from a national book store chain, a movie theater chain, national apparel chains, large local apparel and gift stores, an office products store, several restaurants and more than 20 smaller shop tenants.
Brooks, who will be the project’s lead leasing broker, also assisted the buyer in the transaction.
“We’ve been working long and hard on this project and look forward to bringing the center to the community as soon as possible,” Brooks said. |
