Assignment Brings Firm’s Bay Area Portfolio Under Management to 6.5 Million Square Feet
ALAMEDA, Calif. – PM Realty Group, one of the nation’s leading full-service commercial real estate firms, announced today it has been awarded an exclusive property management and construction management assignment for Alameda Point, an 8 million-square-foot mixed-use site originally built as a Naval Air Base in 1962.
PM Realty Group serves as a sub-agent of Alameda Point Community Partners, a partnership of prominent real estate companies selected to redevelop the site located on an island in the San Francisco Bay. Alameda Point Community Partners will work with the City of Alameda, which formerly managed the property, in overseeing the conversion of existing property totaling 8 million square feet from military to civilian use. PM Realty Group's property management and construction management assignment encompasses 4.5 million of office, industrial and light manufacturing space. With this new assignment, PM Realty Group manages approximately 6.5 million square feet in the San Francisco Bay area.
"Alameda Point is certainly one of the most exciting and complex properties we’ve been associated with in California," said Scott Kuklish, senior vice president and director of the northwest division of PM Realty Group. "When development and redevelopment is complete, Alameda Point will be home to some of the most sought-after office, residential and retail space in the Bay Area. We’re thrilled to be a part of the transformation of this unique property."
Current plans for the property’s transformation were developed through a two-year process involving a cross-section of community members. Upon completion, Alameda Point will be a destination for residents of Oakland, San Francisco and surrounding communities, with vibrant neighborhoods, employment centers, recreational facilities, open space and wildlife habitats.
Rick Jones, vice president of construction for the northwest region for PM Realty Group, will oversee all construction operations at Alameda Point. Allison Millington will serve as senior property manager and Mike Hampen, who has worked at the property since 1985, will be one of two property managers. |
