Transformed Historic Brooklyn Community Home to Most Coveted International Honors
New York - PM Realty Group today announced that Three and Four Chase MetroTech Center, a Class A trophy office property located in Brooklyn’s MetroTech Business Improvement District, was awarded the 2000/2001 Office Building of the Year (TOBY) award, Facilities Division, by the Building Owners and Managers Association International. Earlier this year, the buildings won both the New York Pinnacle Award and the Mid Atlantic Regional TOBY from BOMA, which qualified the property for the commercial real estate industry’s most coveted and prestigious international award.
Located in the Fort Greene/Clinton neighborhood of Brooklyn, Three and Four Chase MetroTech Center is JPMorgan Chase’s largest operations center. Managed by PM Realty Group, the property encompasses nearly 2 million square feet and has played a major role in the revitalization of the once struggling Brooklyn community.
Mark Hagendorf, PM Realty Group Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager for the JPMorgan Chase account in the Northeast, oversees day-to-day operations at the property.
"The MetroTech property embodies all the elements of a well-designed and well-run property," said Sherwood Johnston, president of BOMA International. "With an attractive open-space layout and exterior look that blends with nearby historic buildings, MetroTech is a focal point for the community. At the same time, state-of-the-art features such as multiple risers and eight-speed elevators make this property a standard for the 21st Century."
“This prestigious award would not have been achievable without the vision of JPMorgan Chase to recognize the value of this neighborhood, not only for its central location within the New York City metro area but also for the quality of life and sense of community that can be found there," said Rick Kirk, President of PM Realty Group. "We are proud to be a part of this unique property's success, and grateful to BOMA for highlighting that success with this prestigious award."
"Like the buildings it occupies, JPMorgan Chase is an intrinsic part of the fabric of the neighborhood, encouraging economic growth through philanthropy and community development initiatives," said Ray Owens, Senior Vice President and Director of the Eastern Division at PM Realty Group. "The PM Realty Group property management team led by Mark Hagendorf deserves accolades for carrying out JPMorgan Chase's vision with a high degree of professionalism and creativity."
This year’s award marks the second consecutive year in which a New York City property managed by PM Realty Group was recognized by BOMA for its superior management and operations. Last year, 425 Lexington Avenue, a 31-story, Class A office building located in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, was awarded the New York and Mid Atlantic Regional Operating Office Building Pinnacle Awards for outstanding property management. To date, PM Realty Group has managed nine buildings that have won regional awards from BOMA and two buildings that were international award winners.
The International Corporate Facility award is presented to a single-use facility where a corporate identity occupies at least half of the building. Throughout the judging process, contestant buildings are thoroughly evaluated on all facets of their operations, including tenant relations programs, community involvement, emergency evacuation procedures, continuing education for personnel and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. |
